Managing Director
Craig Hudman is an experienced mergers & acquisitions professional, a former owner of a leading RV dealer, and a dealership management and operations expert.
Craig grew up working in every department of his family’s third-generation RV dealership in Shelley, Idaho. Craig took over the dealership after his grandfather and father retired. He grew the business to approximately $10 million in revenue and 600 in annual unit sales before selling the family business to Camping World in 2014.
Craig then spent several years working for Camping World as the dealership’s general manager and as an operations consultant for other dealers in the Camping World portfolio.
Craig then joined Idaho Central Credit Union as their Dealer Relationship Officer, providing floor plan financing to RV and sports vehicle dealers across Idaho.
Prior to joining Jackim Woods & Co, Craig was an operating manager for a large private equity group and helped them create a new RV dealership holding company, growing that business from a cold start to over 300 unit sales in less than two years.
As a result, Craig has extensive knowledge of recreational vehicle dealership operations from finance to service, marketing to customer service. Craig now focuses on serving clients in the RV sector, including dealers, suppliers, and OEMs.
Craig earned a degree in accounting from Utah State University and his MBA from Idaho State University, so he has a firm understanding of finance and accounting, which, combined with his personal M&A experience, make him an invaluable advisor for RV, automotive, and sports vehicle dealers.
In addition to advising clients on buying and selling RV-related companies, Craig also provides clients with strategic planning services to help them prepare their companies for sale to maximize the company’s value and ensure a transaction meets the client’s goals and objectives.
If you are thinking of selling your RV company, read Craig’s article about his experience selling his family business, “You don’t know, what you don’t know,” to understand why it’s so important to work with an advisor who has been in your shoes and can coach you through the process.
Craig is also a sought-after expert witness on matters involving recreational vehicle dealership valuation, economic damages, warranty issues, operations, financial management, and other issues.
If you own a recreational vehicle business and would like to explore your options, contact Craig Hudman at 208-521-1521 or chudman@jackimwoods.com for a free, confidential, no-obligation consultation.
