Texas County Technical College was acquired by Arizona College
Texas County Technical College is a small, non-profit vocational school that offers an LPN and an RN program. The owner operated two campuses under one OPE ID number. The TCTC campus is located in the very small community of Houston, Missouri. The owner wanted to sell the Houston campus, however, as a non-profit school in a small, rural town, the number of potential buyers was limited.
We worked with the client for several years as they changed accrediting agencies from ACICS to ABHES, then as they applied for a new OPE ID number for the Houston campus. Once the campus was positioned to sell, we ran an exhaustive marketing campaign that resulted in five offers for the small school. In the end, Arizona College was the perfect buyer because they were prepared to convert TCTC into a for-profit entity, and were interested in using TCTC as a vehicle to open new schools in St. Louis and Springfield, Missouri.
Preparing the school for sale and implementing a good marketing strategy were the keys to success in getting this deal closed.
